June 2016 We were asked to formulate a plan to build an altar that matches the original architecture of the Cathedral. We took several weeks to develop a great plan that made sense and with the guidance of the good Fr. Schneider a plan was set and under way. What was found to be important about the project was to closely resemble the church architecture the very best that we could and incorporate an original feature of the upside down cross and keys. We then incorporated a spot in the back of the altar reserved for the relics so they could be placed on display. Lastly, candlesticks were of most importance. A plan was designed to match the original candlesticks on the high altar. We took components and sent them off to Europe to be casted just like the originals The original candlesticks were no longer being made so recreating the originals was the only and best option.
We hope these components out live us and the generations just like the original church and they go on to inspire and prayerfully remind us of our Mother Church and her good deeds. We are proud of Fr. Harry Schneider, Archbishop Nauman and the entire staff of St Peters Cathedral and we send a special thank you to you. With our Regards Fynders Keepers Brokerage. |
