Mike Debus Artwork
The link between good and beautiful stirs fruitful reflection.
Mike Debus was born in Kansas City and currently resides in Olathe KS. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. After college and a handful of years in corporate America, Mike decided to pursue his dream to become a professional fine artist. He soon began to polish his skills by attending workshops and studying under a select group of successful artists. Eventually, Mike rediscovered his passion for portrait art and the human figure and now seeks to express the beauty of individuals in all of his works.
Mike has a successful business as an artist where he has been specializing in portraits, murals, and religious themed artwork since 2001. His mediums of choice are charcoals and oils.
His client list includes St. James Academy, Ascension Catholic School, St. Mary's Catholic Church in northern Minnesota, Archbishop Emeritus James P. Keleher, as well as other priests and religious, along with many private commissions.
Among his many works, his mural dawning the east wall of the St. James Academy gym is the most visible. Standing at 10 1/2' tall by 28 1/2' wide, it can hardly go unnoticed. Another prominent piece is his contemporary rendition of Mary with the Christ Child. This piece is a 6' x 4' oil painting that welcomes those who enter the doors at St. Mary's Catholic Church in northern Minnesota.
As in the words of Pope John Paul ll from his letter to artists, "The link between good and beautiful stirs fruitful reflection. In a certain sense, beauty is the visable form of the good". With these words in mind, Mike hopes his artwork can bring a little more beauty and reflection to your home, church, office, or place of business for many years to come.
